Plaza Appliance Service Co has been that someone for Charlotte-area families for more than 70 years. We are a family-run business providing residential appliance repair across the greater Charlotte area in North Carolina and South Carolina, from Gastonia to Fort Mill and up around Lake Norman.

Food not staying cold, water pooling on the floor, a hum or click you have never heard before. We repair household refrigerators, including counter-depth models. Cooling trouble can come from blocked airflow, a door that no longer closes tight, or a part that has quit; a diagnosis tells which. An upright freezer that is losing its chill, or an ice maker that has slowed to a trickle, is worth a call before the food thaws or the ice runs out. Standing water after a cycle, dishes that come out dirty, or a cycle that quits halfway through all mean the dishwasher needs a look. An oven that will not hold temperature or a burner that will not light can stall dinner for the whole house. We repair ovens, ranges, stoves, cooktops, and wall ovens. A microwave that runs but does not heat, a door that will not latch, a control panel that has gone dark: all worth a call. We repair over-the-range, built-in, and microwave hood combo models. A washer that will not drain or spin, or a dryer that leaves clothes damp, means laundry piles up fast. We repair front-load and top-load washers and the dryers beside them. If your disposal hums, jams, or will not turn on, switch it off and leave it alone. Never reach inside. Running a disposal that hums without spinning can make the problem worse, and a leak under the sink is worth a call before it damages the cabinet. We are open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We are closed Sunday.
Dinner, clean laundry, and a week of groceries all depend on appliances you rarely think about until one quits. When that happens, here is what you can count on from us.
We service the Whirlpool family (Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, JennAir, Amana, Roper, and Estate), the GE family (GE, Monogram, Café, GE Profile, and Hotpoint), Samsung, LG, and Electrolux Group brands. Several of those names come from the same manufacturer, so if the door says Maytag or Hotpoint, it is on our list. When you call, have the brand, the model number (usually on a label inside the door or along the frame), the symptom, and any error code on the display.
Nobody wants to spend money fixing something near the end of its run, and nobody wants to replace an appliance that had years left in it. A few questions sort most cases out. How old is it? Many refrigerators, ranges, and washers give a decade or more of service, and a machine in the first part of its life is a strong candidate for repair. What shape is it in otherwise? One failed part on a solid, well-kept appliance is a different story from the third problem this year. How does the repair price compare with the price of a new appliance? And is it built in? Wall ovens, cooktops, and built-in microwaves are expensive to replace because a new one has to fit the existing cutout, and that tips the scale toward repair.
That decision is yours. The diagnosis gives you the real numbers, and either way you walk away knowing what is wrong and what it would take to fix it.
